Several pieces of good news and “Developing Professional Passions”

1.  Abraham-Hicks seminars live or real-time

As you may recall, the teachings of Abraham brought to us through Esther and Jerry Hicks (Abraham-Hicks Publications) are my eighth and latest wisdom tradition to which I was introduced in 1997.  I have been an ardent scholar of their teaching which provided the inspiration for the CultivatingEnjoyment way of life I am starting to promote.  The other day I received this wonderful information:

“At this San Diego seminar we will conduct our 2nd beta testing of a new "Abraham Live" broadcasting system that we plan to implement very soon. This will allow you to participate real-time in an Abraham seminar using your computer from wherever you may be on the planet!”

Since Esther and Jerry Hicks probably won’t come to Germany real soon and since I probably wouldn’t be in the US nor on one of their cruises real soon – this news is awesome.  I can enjoy their workshops right from my home.  Abraham live on my work desk right in my home office.  How I LOVE the Internet.

2.  Ulrike Wagner from “Land-Sehen” (Seeing Land) in Freiburg, Germany, is showing interest in the CultivatingEnjoyment way of life

Good news again last Saturday regarding a possible future CultivatingEnjoyment group.  I had a phone call with Ulrike Wagner, a friend of mine who is living in beautiful Freiburg, Germany.  She is the proprietor of “Land-Sehen” or “Seeing Land”.  For her corporate and private clients she inspires, promotes, facilitates, and supervises the creation and preservation of orderliness, structure, and organization in the office at the work place as well as at home for greater efficiency and productivity and … for having more FUN!  And you know by now, I am all about … having more FUN!  Take a look if you like:  http://www.land-sehen.de (For English, click on the flag of the UK).

Ulrike understood at once what the CultivatingEnjoyment way of life implies:  A balance towards the negativity perpetuated drastically by the news which scours the earth for the most negative occurrences in the life of humans (e.g. war) and in regard to the environment (e.g. natural catastrophe).  On a daily basis we are served an incredible distortion of what is happening in the world since the vast majority of the almost 7 billion people are living entirely normal lives and since the nature’s processes work beautifully well, maintaining and safeguarding our life on earth, on a microscopic and macroscopic level and on ay and every level in between.  Thank you very much, dear nature.

Even Sal-Pal, my computer-tutor told me during our session last Saturday that his colleague made a big deal out of the one customers who was unpleasant when all night long he had had the privilege of serving four dozen most friendly and accommodating guests (Sal works as a waiter at the Rocky Point Restaurant, Big Sur, with one of the most gorgeous views of the world and at the cute, cozy, and intimate “Club Jalapeno” tucked away in the picturesque Carmel courtyard on San Carlos).  So engrained is sometimes our propensity to communicating the unpleasant that we have made a habit of it, we are accustomed to it, we do it ourselves and expect it from others.  And through all of that we perpetuate this nasty, almost addictive habit.

Ulrike will review my information, and we agreed to have another phone call in the near future.  I will then put together a draft in German which she will submit to a group of spiritual friends to brainstorming how a CultivatingEnjoyment group could possibly be established in Freiburg.

3.  Boulder, CO, CultivatingEnjoyment group member made my wildest dream come true

Yesterday I facilitated the Boulder, CO, group and one of my fantasies came true:  One of the group members was so eager to share her enjoyable experiences that she couldn’t wait to get started.  And it was only her second session.  She really got it!  I have been envisioning groups of people meeting everywhere in society, everywhere in the world, passionate about certain aspects of their lives and ready to exchange them with other equally enthusiastic souls.  I’d like so much to kindle the unbridled joy of life we all could tenderly cultivate for our own enjoyment and that of our fellow-citizens!

Developing Professional Passions, Part 1

The second CultivatingEnjoyment session in Germany was really great.  Our topic was “Developing Professional Passions” and centered on thoughts like:

·         What made us choose our particular work and what were our initial expectations?
·         Was there enthusiasm and eagerness in the beginning in association with our work?
·         What are some enjoyable experiences or memories regarding our work?
·         What aspects of our work do we currently enjoy?
·         What talents, experiences, insights, and skills have we been able to contribute to our work?
·         In what way, in turn, have our experiences, insights, and skills been growing and improving through our work?
·         In what way have work related situations, circumstances, or experiences been enriching our lives and made us feel good?
·         Have we been able to develop enthusiasm towards our work-related tasks or projects?
·         Has our work enabled us to be creative, intuitive, analytical, and/or logical?
·         Are we able to find solutions to problems or challenges, or to improve existing situations?
·         In what way has our work been a contribution to making the world a better place?
·         Are we grateful to our coworkers, superiors, or subordinates for what they contribute to the work place?
·         Do we experience enjoyment when working collaboratively with our colleagues?
·         Are we content about our employee benefit package?
·         How grateful are we to our customers who purchase our goods and services or to those who are the beneficiaries of our work?
·         How knowledgeable are we in the industry to which our company belongs?
·         Do we take interest in professional groups or industry associations?
·         Have we ever felt appreciation for the drive, dedication, ingenuity, courage, willingness to take risk, and hard work of the company’s founder/s?
·         Are we thankful for the added responsibility of and the challenges faced by the top level executives, leaders, board members, or business owners?
·         Do we feel exhilarated when we receive our pay check - or payment for goods sold or services rendered?
·         Are we looking forward to and enjoy the positive feedback we receive for our work from our coworkers, subordinates, superiors, or clients?
·         “What-if” scenario:  What would our ideal work look like?  If we could have any work we wanted, what would it be and how would that make us feel?
·         Letting our imagination run wild:  Mentally creating the most ideal work imaginable, its environment and its attributes, asking ourselves:  “What would my dream work be like?”

The examples above refer mainly to working in a corporate setting but they also apply, with some modifications, to the public sector, small proprietorships, self-employment, nonprofit organizations, churches, and universities and schools, etc.

The topic “Developing Professional Passions” will be continued.
